Backyard Wedding Bliss

Earlier this year my cousin got engaged, and we were so excited for her! Shortly after the announcement, wedding planning began. She called and asked if I would help...and of course I said YES! Who wouldn't want to help plan a fantastic wedding?!?

So we met at a local wine bar, a little wine never hurt party planning, and went through ideas. Throwing out all sorts of ideas and visions for this special day. We narrowed things down to a cozy backyard wedding, with touches of rustic, white and green and splashes of gold.

And that is just what we did! It turned out amazing and her day was perfect!

A simple and elegant spot for a wedding ceremony and the amazing arbor was made by the groom out of railroad ties.
The Guest Book, a bench that will sit in their yard for many years with messages of love from family and friends.

A yard full of cream lined tables, vases of white and green flowers and lights for a little twinkle.

A very fun dessert table full of sweets, flowers and lots of LOVE!

A fun bar available for all to make their own special drink...and a sign for the drink of choice.

A few added décor pieces to bring in a little glitz and glam...

and a lot of fun under the stars!
Congratulations to this amazing couple. So sweet and so stinking cute!
Welcome to the family Christian we love you both so much!

A Reason to Celebrate!

A dear friend came to me and asked if I'd help her plan a party...of course I said YES! Who doesn't want to plan a fabulous party?!?

It was her and her husbands 10 year Wedding Anniversary. They wanted to have an intimate dinner party with hints of rustic charm and white and gold accents. So that is just what we did, and it turned out beautiful!

The table was anchored with beautiful rustic burlap runners. Down the middle the table was lined with mason jars painted in gold and dipped in glitter. Tea lights and candles gave the table a dim glow, and white Roses, Stock and Million Star gave a soft  and elegant look.

As a guest and friend it was so great to see such an amazing couple celebrate a marriage milestone. 10 years and still in love! Love you lots R & J!

Please enjoy a few pictures courtesy of Austin Bauman Photo and Film.

A simple dessert table with rustic touches.

Of course you can't leave a winery without a bottle of wine.
The gracious hosts gave every couple a few bottles to enjoy at home.

It was a great night surrounded with amazing friends!

A Light at the End of the Tunnel

**I forgot to post this and a lot has happened since I wrote this a few weeks ago, but enjoy it anyways and there will be a BIG UPDATE soon!**

So I thought the process was long when I posted about the long process 3 months ago...and we're still a month away from being able to move in. But, with that being said, we're only 1 month away from being able to move in!

We finally have a walk through scheduled on June 18th and a closing date of June 25th. YAY! I mean - YAY!  When we started this whole process we thought we'd be out of a home for only a few months, well that few months turned into 4 months which turned into 8 months. The better part of a year will have been spent living out of 6 boxes, the 3 of us (me, hubby and Little S) sleeping in one room, eating out for almost every breakfast, lunch and dinner, and invading on my Aunt and Uncle and now my parents. Yes, I am happy to say that my family still loves us and doesn't want to get rid of us. But we are so excited to be getting our own space, our own TV, our own DVR, kitchen, bathrooms, washer and dryer...you get it. Our space back and our life back!

Honestly, we can't thank my family enough for what they have done for us. My Mom has cooked for us many nights (more than normal) through out this process. So maybe not Every meal was eaten out, but a lot. And my mom has helped me with laundry since we didn't want to take up my aunt and uncles while we were living there. My aunt and uncle have been AMAZING! We had so much fun living with them. Up late talking to my uncle about politics and sports, Little S wondering where Aunt Maggie was at all times, and Little S following her big cousin Dakota around whenever she came over! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU - I could go on, but I'll stop.

Now on to the fun stuff...an update on the house.

First here is a fun timeline from the start of framing in early March to this past weekend. It's looking like a real house these days!

Now on to the inside. I'll include just a few progress photos and try to get to the exciting part, the current status!

My mom, referred to as Mama L, and I have been talking about starting a blog for quite some time now. We are always trying new recipes and making new crafts - always being told by friends and family that we need to sell our creations. Instead of selling them we've decided to share our crafty ideas, yummy recipes along with our funny adventures here on our blog. Please follow us and enjoy. We are always trying to find new places to explore, new recipes to cook for our families and most of all we're just having fun!
