This year was S's 4th Birthday and J's 40th Birthday. Plus our friends and family hadn't been to our new place so it was a birthday and housewarming all wrapped into one! I could only manage one party this year with all that we had going on.
At the end of last year's party, literally while we were still in the parking lot packing up from the princess party, my mom had a brilliant idea for the next party. Since we are sports loving, football fanatics she threw out the idea of a Football party, 4th & 40, as in 4th Down and 40 Yards to Go. At the time I wasn't ready to even start thinking of the next party...but it was a perfect idea!
And here is how it turned out...
THE END ZONE
Full of sweets from cake and cupcakes to peanut butter & chocolate Rice Krispie treats, caramel apple covered marshmallows, chocolate covered Oreos, chocolate covered pretzels, suckers...and so much more!

Cake by A Piece of Cake J&S are from Hobby Lobby, they come plain and you can add glitter or use the template provided to add paper to the face of the letters. I added the stripped paper and glittered the outsides of them. It comes with the lights and the little bulbs. So fun. |

Swag for the kids. |
Since we had quote a long guest list we decided to make lunch simple. Hot dogs, condiments, fruit salad and a green salad. We roasted the hot dogs in the oven the day before, let them cool and then put them in the buns and wrapped them individually in foil. Refrigerated them overnight and just before the party we popped them in the oven at a low temp for about 20 minutes. We weren't sure if this would work, but it was perfect. They were delicious and we did 150 hot dogs in no time. No hovering over a BBQ or having guests wait for more hot dogs to be cooked. Yellow penalty flag napkins and black and white referee plates made for easy eating for our guests.
