A Splash of Color

I love our new house, but there was one spot that was too dark for my liking. It was our front hallway. It's a long, somewhat narrow, hallway to our front door. There are no windows, which means no natural light and with the dark grey wall color we chose, without the lights on, it is pretty dark.

So I pondered ideas of what to do, and it is still a work in progress, but the first thing I decided to do was paint the inside of my front door a bright color. Yes, I said BRIGHT. I chose Sherwin Williams Pink Burst and how I got my husband to agree with me and go along with this project, I have no idea. But he was totally on board which made me so happy!

I taped off the door and started to paint. The paint we purchased was a primer and paint in one but it still took several coats. I ended up painting 3 coats. This was also a high gloss paint, that way I can just wipe the little munchkin finger prints off with out a problem.

I'm loving our new door and it is just the pop of color I needed to make this hallway bright and cheery.
